Some facts about me - I was born in Russia when it was part of the Soviet Union
- I once spoke French better than I speak English now
- I have lived in four countries: Russia, United States, Ireland, United Kingdom and now I know that people are mostly the same everywhere
- Some of the jobs I have had in my life: journalist for a teen newspaper, English tutor for corporate employees, babysitter to an autistic boy, housekeeper at a family resort in Minnesota, ice cream scooper, processor of Ancient Mayan pottery, teacher of Dostoevsky to American high-schoolers, documentary film-maker, immigrant women coach, DMV data analyst, entrepreneur, teacher of sociology, mother of three children
- I took my first creative writing class at Westport Writing Workshop in 2017. I obtained my Master's in Creative Writing at University College Dublin, working under the creative mentorship of Anne Enright, in August 2020
- Currently I am in the process of querying publishers on my collection of short stories under the title "The House at the Edge of a Chemical Weapons' Plant"
- I cannot wait for the day when Ukraine wins the war, its people return home, and every Russian war criminal is prosecuted
